How to find all your lost passwords

24th May 2022
So, you’ve forgotten your password, again. Now you have to go through the hassle of resetting – waiting for the email from the company, clicking to confirm and then inventing yet another password, that you’ll probably forget anyway. Stop right there. Did you know that you can find all your passwords in your browsers' settings? It’s a great feature for those of us who regularly forget our passwords, but not so good for those who haven’t set up login security on their device.

How to do it

To access this feature on your browser, follow the instructions below.

Chrome

  • Click the three-dot icon in the top right corner, then select Settings
  • Now select Autofill > Passwords
  • Now just scroll to the password you need.

Note: You may have to enter your system password to verify your identity.

Safari

  • Click Safari from the menu bar at the top of the screen and then select Preferences
  • Click Passwords
  • Enter your system password, scroll until you find the password you’re looking for then click the three-dot icon to view.

Firefox

  • Click the three-dot icon, then open Settings
  • Select Logins and Passwords
  • Scroll until you find the password you want.

Note: You may need to enter your system password to view the selected password.

Edge

  • Click the three-dot icon in the right hand corner of the screen, then select Settings
  • Click Profiles from the list on the left-hand sidebar and then select Passwords
  • Scroll until you find the password you need. Note: You may need to enter your system login password or use your fingerprint scan to view the selected password.
